ACP Magazines appoints Harper's BAZAAR deputy editor

April 13

ACP Magazines today announced that Georgie McCourt-Abay has been appointed to the role of deputy editor on the women's fashion title Harper's BAZAAR.

"I am delighted to announce Georgie as our new deputy editor," said Harper's BAZAAR editor Edwina McCann.

"Over the past two years, Georgie has not only proved herself as a fashion features editor but has also edited two additional magazines: Collections and the recently launched BAZAAR Brides. Her professionalism, strong fashion background and reputation in the market are exceptional."

McCourt-Abay has been the fashion features editor of Harper's BAZAAR since April, 2010. Prior to working at BAZAAR she spent two years working for Vogue Australia as fashion news editor and before that worked on the launch of Harper's BAZAAR in Dubai.

McCourt-Abay began her magazine career at FPC Magazines in the custom title division. She earned a Bachelor of Media and Communications from the University of Sydney in 2001.

"I am absolutely thrilled to accept the role of deputy editor at Harper's BAZAAR. Having previously worked on the launch of Harper's BAZAAR Arabia in Dubai, I am extremely dedicated to the title. I am delighted to be working on Australia's best fashion title with such a talented, passionate team," said McCourt-Abay.

McCourt-Abay replaces Rachel Sharp who has been promoted to editor of Women's Fitness, to launch in September, 2012.
